Company Description

The Ferrari family is a historical presence in the hamlet of Gargagnago. Since the early 1700s it has settled in this village, in the mansion  house dating back to 1600 Antonio Ferrari Dr (1755/1820) doctor and landowner.

For two other generations respectively with Ferrari Dr.Carlo , surgeon, 1789/1855 and Ferrari Dr.Antonio and Massimiliano (1832/1908) The family dedicated themselves to the medical profession in the municipality of Sant’Ambrogio, while maintaining a passion for growing vines on their estates, as evidenced by the regional history of vines and wine in Veneto of the Italian Academy of Vines and Wine, where they have been cited as grape producers in Valpolicella since 1800.

The current property which includes 10 hectares of vineyard, located on the hills of Bure Alto in the municipality of S. Pietro In Cariano and those of Gargagnago in the municipality of S.Ambrogio di valp., the mansion house with the cellars below was the result of historical vicissitudes and successions and is the one that remained with Carlo Ferrari (1892/1958), bank official and winemaker.

In 1967, his son Aleardo Ferrari,a banker, took over the management of the company and began winemaking the grapes and marketing them in Italy and abroad. In 1986 Aleardo definitively left his banking job to dedicate himself exclusively to running the company and with the collaboration of his sons, Carlo enotecnico, Alessandro; in charge of vineyard cultivation and Cristina, sales manager, he began a gradual restructuring starting from the agricultural section with the conversion of the vineyards, previously cultivated by sharecropping families, with sixths of planting, number of strains and breeding systems suitable for producing excellent quality grapes to then continue with the modernization of the cellars.

Since 2023, the winery  has been producing high-quality organic certified DOC and DOCG classic wines from Valpolicella.
