Company Description

Negretti is a family-owned winery located in La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo DOCG area in Piedmont, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions and part of the UNESCO-listed Langhe landscape. The estate is led by brothers Ezio and Massimo Negretti, who represent the latest generation of a winemaking family whose roots in viticulture date back to the early 20th century. Their work continues a long family tradition while embracing a modern, research-oriented vision of wine.

The two brothers divide responsibilities between market development and technical production: Ezio focuses on business and international presence, while Massimo, trained in oenology, leads the cellar with a meticulous, hands-on approach. Together they pursue a philosophy that unites heritage and innovation — respecting ancestral knowledge while applying modern viticultural and winemaking techniques with precision and purpose.

Negretti’s production centers on Nebbiolo — the noble grape of Barolo — alongside Barbera and Chardonnay, with a portfolio that includes several single-vineyard Barolo crus and Langhe wines. Each label is conceived as a faithful expression of site, soil composition, and microclimate, with strong emphasis on vineyard identity and minimal compromise in production choices. Fermentations often rely on indigenous yeasts, and cellar practices are designed to preserve varietal purity and territorial character.

Sustainability is a core pillar of the winery’s approach. Through what they define as a “Green Experience” philosophy, Negretti promotes responsible use of natural resources, biodiversity protection, and low-impact vineyard management. Their goal is to produce wines that respect both the land and the cultural heritage of the Langhe, avoiding exploitative practices and prioritizing long-term environmental balance.

Negretti is also a founding member of the Langa Style group, a collective of young Langhe producers who share a common vision for wine communication and market presence, while maintaining full independence in vineyard and cellar decisions. The winery’s identity is built on authenticity, territorial expression, and a balance between tradition and forward-looking experimentation.
