Company Description

Taverna Wines is a family-owned estate located in the village of Neive, in the Barbaresco area. Its history began with Ludovina (Vina) Versio, who managed the vineyards and produced wine for over 30 years after becoming a widow at a young age, laying the foundations of the family business.

The estate was later run by Piero Taverna and is now led by Roberto Taverna, who officially became owner in 1998. Under his guidance, the winery entered a new phase, obtaining an official bottling license in 2016 and producing its first Barbaresco, followed by further development and collaborations aimed at expanding production.

The winery has always remained closely connected to its roots, with a strong focus on estate-grown grapes and traditional practices. Vineyards include historic crus such as Cascina Slizza, still owned by the family, and are planted with varieties including Nebbiolo, Moscato, Barbera, Chardonnay, Arneis, and others.

Taverna Wines represents a long-standing family tradition, combining heritage and gradual innovation while maintaining a strong link to the Barbaresco territory.
