Company Description

Al-Cantàra is a boutique winery located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, in the district of Feudo Sant’Anastasia near Randazzo. Founded by Pucci Giuffrida, the estate combines viticulture, art, and poetry, expressing wine as a cultural and artistic experience as well as an agricultural product. The name itself evokes the Arabic word for “bridge,” symbolizing a connection between land, history, and creativity.

The winery cultivates native Etna grape varieties — including Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante, and Catarratto — across vineyards characterized by volcanic soils, strong temperature variations, and high-altitude conditions. These elements contribute to wines with distinctive minerality, structure, and aromatic complexity.

Al-Cantàra is known for its strong artistic identity: each wine is paired with poetry and visual art, and the labels feature works by contemporary artists and cultural figures. The company produces a range of Etna DOC and IGT wines, crafted through careful vineyard selection, low yields, and attentive cellar practices, including stainless steel and oak aging depending on the style.

Beyond production, Al-Cantàra promotes wine as a multidisciplinary journey that unites tradition, territory, literature, and visual expression — a project where every bottle tells a story of Etna’s landscape and creative spirit.
