Company Description

Getting back to where you started can be an exciting journey. After 25 years of experience in the financial world, I rediscovered a deep sense of belonging to my country and a strong connection with my Piedmontese roots and my passion for wine.

The dream began to take shape in the Langhe, a land of great winemaking traditions, gastronomic excellence, and centuries-old viticulture.

After almost 10 years of searching, and thanks to my friendship with Davide Rosso, owner of Giovanni Rosso Winery, I had the opportunity to acquire two plots in the Barolo crus “Cerretta” and “Prapò”.

From these vineyards were born two exceptional Barolo wines, expressing a transition from a modern, international and Bordeaux style toward the traditional and unique identity of Barolo, interpreted with a contemporary vision that respects the terroir.

SERRALUNGA D’ALBA

The Langhe represent the highest expression of Nebbiolo, a grape variety that reflects the cultural, historical and natural heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

Serralunga d’Alba is considered one of the most prestigious Barolo production areas, thanks to its hilly amphitheater landscape, excellent exposures and unique microclimate ideal for Nebbiolo.

The 100% Nebbiolo grapes are usually harvested around mid-October.
The strict Barolo production regulations define requirements regarding soil composition, vineyard exposure, altitude, hillside cultivation, planting density and the Guyot pruning system.

Cerretta Cru

The Cerretta vineyard, planted in 1998, covers 0.75 hectares at an altitude of 340 meters above sea level with a western exposure on clay-rich soils.

The vineyard lies on the Sant’Agata Fossili marls, geological formations dating back around 10 million years, composed of sand, loam and clay. These soils allow the roots to reach the mother rock, giving the wine structure, depth and elegance.

The eastern section of the vineyard is used to produce Langhe Rosso.

Prapò Cru

The Prapò cru is located on the eastern slope of Serralunga d’Alba, near the Cerretta hilltop, with some of the best exposures in the area.

Planted in 2000, the vineyard covers 0.5 hectares at an altitude of 365 meters above sea level.

The soil is calcareous-clay, where the Lequio Formation transitions into the Sant’Agata Fossili marls. This terroir produces a Barolo with a different character from Cerretta, featuring remarkable structure and distinctive richness.

ETNA PROJECT

In 2016, I decided to expand my dream by acquiring a 13-hectare estate, including 6 hectares of vineyards, located on the north-eastern slopes of Mount Etna.

CASTIGLIONE DI SICILIA

The north-eastern side of Mount Etna is one of the most prestigious areas for red wine production in Sicily, often compared to Barolo, Burgundy or Barbaresco for its complexity and unique identity.

Solicchiata, a village in Castiglione di Sicilia, is the origin of my Sicilian wines, inspired by Etna and the nearby sea. This land, once cultivated by ancient Greeks and Romans, is wild, generous and powerful.

Here the indigenous grape Nerello Mascalese expresses elegance, finesse and mineral character. My goal is to produce wines that tell the story of this terroir with style and elegance, interpreted in a contemporary and approachable way.

The vineyard is located a few kilometers from Passopisciaro, at the foot of Montedolce, an extinct crater of Mount Etna that gives its name to the Contrada.

The estate extends over 13 hectares, with 6 hectares currently in production, at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. The main grape variety is Nerello Mascalese, accompanied by small percentages of other indigenous varieties permitted by the Etna DOC regulations.

The microclimate is unique, with strong temperature variations between day and night, enhancing the aromatic complexity of the grapes.

The soil, 80% volcanic in origin, is composed of lava ash, sand, lapilli and pumice, extremely mineral-rich and highly permeable, giving the wines distinct minerality and freshness.
