Company Description
A modern winery steeped in tradition.
Ca’ di Rajo’s is not a story of generational change. Rather, it’s the story of young people at the helm of a winery founded in 2005 by Simone Cecchetto, who is today accompanied by his two brothers Alessio and Fabio.
Ca’ di Rajo keeps 15 hectares of Bullussera-trained vineyards, a training method that represents a truly splendid example of landscape architecture, and which today is in danger of dying out.
The vines reach a height of almost four metres and require every operation to be carried out exclusively by hand.
Ca’ di Rajo has 15 hectares of Bellussera vineyards,
some of which have been replanted in recent years with native varieties such as Raboso.
At Ca’ di Rajo, we are committed to preserving this form of vine training – for its historic importance to Italian viticulture and the craft of winemaking in general: Bellussera uses a radial arrangement for training the vines, originally developed at the end of the 19th century.
Our commitment not to uproot vines – some of which are 100 years old – despite it being impossible to mechanise pruning and harvesting, has been tenaciously upheld by Simone, Alessio and Fabio Cecchetto, grandchildren of founder Marino Cecchetto.
They have decided to continue their grandfather’s fight to defend this traditional training method.
