Company Description
The Cantina Castiadas was born in 1959 from the ancient vine stocks of the Castiadas mountains.
Typically surrounded by a thick Mediterranean maquis, in an enchanting landscape of immense white sand beaches and crystal-clear sea water, and by the uncontaminated nature of the “Sette Fratelli”, “Minniminni” and “Baccu Arrodas” mountains.
Founded by the Ente di Riforma Agraria della Sardegna, and supported by the main viticulturists of the area, it gathered the grapes coming from the whole Sarrabus.
Its goal was the production of high-quality wines according to ancient viticultural traditions, in which the valuable Cannonau wine was the undisputed king.
In fact, this wine is produced in these ancient lands where it is exclusively called “Capo Ferrato”.
After a long period of ups and downs, and with a brand new administration, there was a turning point for this young commercial activity.
Supported by new technologies and innovation, all efforts were concentrated on a production that better represents the Sarrabus territory.
In this way, the Cantina focused increasingly on the vineyards, the grape harvest, and the production process.
The final result is a highly selected product, capable of inviting the consumer to experience the authentic flavours of this ancient and unspoiled land.
