Company Description

Anyone who has visited Sardinia longs to return; for those who have yet to discover it, it is an experience to be savoured at least once in a lifetime. At the heart of the island lies Mandrolisai, a unique region that gives its name to the only Sardinian wine appellation directly associated with its land, rather than with a single grape variety. It is within this context that the Cantina del Mandrolisai, founded in 1950, operates. With over seventy vintages to its name, it preserves a tradition handed down from generation to generation, an authentic expression of the deep bond between community, wine-growing culture and the land.

There are two main wine lines: Kent’Annos (One Hundred Years), which takes its name from the traditional Sardinian wish for a long life, inspired by the island’s renowned longevity (four red wines and one rosé), and Omphalos (Navel), featuring three single-varietal wines (Cannonau di Sardegna DOC, Bovale Sardo IGT Isola dei Nuraghi and Vermentino di Sardegna DOC) .

The Mandrolisai Winery was founded in 1950, with its first harvest taking place in 1952. Mandrolisai’s reputation for wine-making stems from its unique geographical features, with high-altitude, sunny and superbly exposed hillside vineyards. The climate, characterised by low rainfall and a long summer, also contributes to the success of the wines, ensuring perfect ripening of the grapes even in cooler vintages. The traditional quality and uniqueness of the area’s wines have led to Mandrolisai being included among Sardinian wines with Protected Designation of Origin (DOC).
