Company Description

Cantine Bonacchi captures the soul of Tuscany in every glass—sun-drenched vineyards, time-honored traditions, and authentic flavors that tell the story of the land with elegance and warmth.

Today, the Bonacchi family owns four prestigious estates across Tuscany, each located in an iconic wine-growing area:
• Chianti Montalbano (Montemagno Estate) – 100 acres dedicated primarily to Chianti production
• Chianti Classico (Casalino Estate) – 60 acres in the heart of the historic Black Rooster area
• Montalcino (Molino della Suga Estate) – 25 acres producing Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino
• Bolgheri Estate, acquired in December 2022, dedicated to Bolgheri, Bolgheri Superiore and Bolgheri Vermentino

In addition, the company has recently planted 50 acres of new vineyards for Chianti Colli Senesi, Vermentino, and Pinot Grigio IGT.

Cantine Bonacchi operates a highly modern winemaking and bottling facility equipped with two bottling lines: one fully automated line dedicated exclusively to Bordeaux bottles, with a capacity of up to 9,000 bottles per hour, and a second line for double Bordolese bottles and traditional straw-covered flasks, producing up to 3,000 units per hour.

Combined with the extensive cellar storage capacity, this structure allows the company to efficiently meet any production request.
The winery currently produces approximately 3,000,000 bottles per year, serving both domestic and international markets. As a further guarantee of quality and organization, Cantine Bonacchi is ISO 9001:2015, BRC, and IFS certified.

The Bonacchi winemaking tradition dates back to the late 19th century, when Enrico Bonacchi, great-grandfather of Andrea Bonacchi, founded the family’s wine-growing activity in the same area where the vineyards still stand today.

His son Pio Bonacchi, born in 1909, expanded the family business by acquiring neighboring land and planting new vineyards.
A major turning point came in 1965 with Giovanni Bonacchi, Andrea’s father, who envisioned growth beyond the original estate and acquired the Montemagno property to expand Chianti production. In the late 1980s, the business strengthened its commercial presence both locally and internationally with the construction of a new winery in Quarrata.

Following Giovanni’s retirement, Andrea Bonacchi, now the fourth generation, continues to lead the company, expanding the prestige of the Bonacchi brand, which is today present in over 20 countries worldwide.
