Company Description

The Caseificio Seggiano SRL group includes two cheese production sites specialising primarily in sheep’s milk cheese, one located in Lazio region and the other in Tuscany – specifically in the provinces of Rome and Grosseto – as well as a third site for maturing and packaging, which was recently built (2023) in the province of Rieti, close to the Fiano Romano motorway junction.

The Caseificio Seggiano SRL group subsequently established a business network with Zootecnica Viterbese, a dairy farmers’ cooperative with its own feed production facility using crops grown by its members, with the aim of developing a comprehensive animal feed plan. All the milk produced by Zootecnica Viterbese’s suppliers is collected and processed by the Caseificio Seggiano group. This makes it possible to control the entire production chain, from livestock feed to the processed product. This production chain is known as Iolatte.

The two production sites offer a wide range of products, including four PDO cheeses:

  • At the production plant in the province of Grosseto: Pecorino Romano PDO produced in Grosseto and Pecorino Toscano PDO (fresh and matured)
  • At the production plant in the province of Rome (known as Casearea Agri In SRL): Pecorino Romano PDO from Lazio – awarded by “Gambero Rosso” as the best Pecorino Romano PDO – and Ricotta Romana PDO.

The company was conceived and established with production facilities in different regions, all linked by a commitment to sourcing raw materials locally and manufacturing products within their respective regions, in order to offer customers a diverse range of products that reflect the local area.

To make it easier to distinguish between the two production lines, please find attached PDF files of the articles, with the first section relating to production in Tuscany and the section from “Deroma” onwards relating to production in Lazio.
