Company Description
CorteDomina is a boutique winery nestled in the very heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy—one of the world’s most prestigious and historic wine appellations.
The authentically Italian Bonora family founded, fully owns, and actively runs the winery since its establishment in 2016.
Passionate about wine and cultural heritage, they carefully restored and revitalized a historic estate dating back to the 15th century. This enchanting property spans 21 hectares of pristine Tuscan countryside, with more than 4 hectares dedicated to meticulously tended vineyards, ensuring full control from vine to bottle.
Set in a serene, unspoiled valley encircled by ancient woodlands, the estate lies between 400 and 500 meters above sea level along a historic route linking Florence and Siena. This quintessential Chianti setting delivers ideal conditions for wine-making: abundant sunshine across varied, hillside exposures, constant year-round breezes that promote healthy vines and slow ripening, complex mineral-rich soils dominated by schist and clay for proper drainage, and pronounced diurnal temperature swings that preserve vibrant acidity and aromatic intensity—hallmarks of elegant, age-worthy Tuscan reds.
CorteDomina is committed to premium-quality, low-yield production, crafting only around 18,000 bottles annually. The estate follows rigorous organic vineyard management practices and adheres to zero-residue agricultural protocols, minimizing environmental impact while maximizing varietal expression and concentration in every grape. Keys to the approach at CorteDomina are little to none mechanical work in the fields, hand-harvesting, gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation, restrained oak aging, long bottle refinement. By harmoniously blending state-of-the-art wine making technology with time-honored artisan techniques the estate expresses the purest essence of its land.
Production is overseen since inception by Barbara Tamburini, a renowned Tuscan consultant winemaker, awarded in 2019 the Wine Oscar for Best Winemaker by the Italian Sommelier Association for her expertise particularly with Sangiovese and Merlot varieties.
As a proud member of the Chianti Classico DOCG consortium and the Radda’s Winemakers Association (Vignaioli di Radda), CorteDomina stands alongside other independent, excellence-driven producers dedicated to authentic, terroir-focused Chianti Classico wines of the highest integrity.
The portfolio is deliberately concise and focused, offering classy, modern interpretations of one of Italy’s finest and oldest wine-making traditions. It features a world-class rosé label and a flagship Super Tuscan, alongside true Chianti Classico benchmark labels, all crafted primarily from native Sangiovese blended thoughtfully with Merlot for added structure, versatility, and depth. The results deliver elegance, balance and exceptional purity.
