Company Description
Emme Gel is a company founded in the mid ‘70s from an idea by the Martelli family. The steady growth of the sector, together with the quality of the products handled and the company’s organization, has enabled Emme Gel to become a leader in the production and distribution of frozen products. Today, Emme Gel is driven by a strong innovative spirit in terms of technology, research, and the development of new products to be introduced to the market.
The evolution of the group follows its own path: it originated as a single reality and, in the mid ‘90s, separated its logistics division (Frigo Gel) from its commercial division (Emme Gel), in order to streamline the supply chain as well as production and distribution processes. Today, the holding company Martelli Group S.p.A. fully controls both companies, integrating the know-how of each.
Frigo Gel is a modern organization providing distribution platform services for large-scale retail, as well as integrated logistics for customers requiring picking, handling, storage, and transportation services across the territory. At the same time, it carefully manages Emme Gel’s entire cold chain, which represents the group’s key strength: all logistics services, from production to the final consumer, are managed internally without intermediaries or external suppliers.
At the same time, Emme Gel is involved in the production, import, and distribution of seafood products and more. Since 1995, it has become a leader in the sector, supplying a large portion of the Italian large-scale retail market, as well as cash & carry operators and wholesalers, with a wide range of natural and prepared products. Production takes place in the countries of origin, in partnership with manufacturers who dedicate their full production capacity exclusively to the company.
Frigo Gel, cold chain logistics, making its know-how available both to major large-scale retail groups (Coop Italia, Esselunga, Unicoop Firenze) and to all those customers requiring integrated logistics services: cold storage space rental, picking, handling, internal movement, and national and international transportation.
