Company Description
Mezzecrete Società Agricola is an Italian certified organic farm located in the heart of the Crete Senesi, southeast of Siena, Tuscany, an area where olive trees have been cultivated since medieval times.
The first documented evidence dates back to a 1383 sharecropping contract between the Abbey of Monte Oliveto and a local farmer.
The estate known as Agricola Neci, located in Asciano (SI), was acquired by Mezzecrete in 2002. At that time, only one hectare was planted with olive trees.
Recognizing the potential of the area, the company expanded olive cultivation to over 2,300 trees across approximately 10 hectares.
Today, olive growing represents the core activity of the farm. The flagship product is Olio Nece – Terre di Siena DOP, a premium organic extra virgin olive oil produced exclusively from olives grown on the estate.
OLIO NECE Description
Olio Nece is a Tuscan Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, certified DOP Terre di Siena (Protected Designation of Origin) and EU Certified Organic.
The olives are harvested manually during the month of October and processed using a continuous mechanical cold extraction system. The oil is filtered to preserve quality.
The yield is deliberately kept below 15% to ensure concentration, aromatic complexity, and high nutritional value.
