Company Description
My name is Guido Busetto and I am the owner of Castello di Selvole, a family-run estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, in the valley facing Brolio, where this appellation began over 300 years ago. The climate and soil are particularly suited to growing vines, especially Sangiovese.
We cultivate 25 hectares of vineyards: partly Sangiovese and partly international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. My wife Nobuko, who is Japanese, works with me and shares my passion for wine.
Our production is divided into two lines. The first includes Chianti Classico DOCG Annata (currently 2021), Riserva (2017), Gran Selezione (2016) and Vin Santo del Chianti Classico 1996, elegant wines that stand out in the region.
The second line includes international varieties: two Super Tuscans, “Barullo” (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) and “Frescolaia” (Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet), as well as three single-varietal wines: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
The international vines were sourced from Bordeaux and planted at high density. Thanks also to the collaboration with the Faculté d’oenologie of Bordeaux and Yves Glories, our oenologist for seven years, these varieties adapted very well to our terroir, producing wines that combine the Tuscan sun with the elegance and structure of Bordeaux.
Our Chianti Classico wines are strictly 100% Sangiovese.
As a small winery, we focus not only on quality but also on building strong relationships with our clients and providing attentive after-sales service.
