Who we are
La Faretra is nestled among the unspoiled hills of the Tuscan Maremma and extends over approximately 75 hectares, encompassing vineyards, olive groves, woodlands, horse pastures, and arable fields.
The agricultural project was born in 2010 from a passion for horses and a love for a land gently shaped by human hands, inspired by balance and respect for the landscape.
The territory of Gavorrano and its crops
La Faretra is located in Gavorrano, an area near Grosseto that offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes: from gently cultivated hills to wild coastlines, from nearby islands to historic villages suspended in time.
We cultivate both native and international grape varieties: Sangiovese, Pugnitello, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Carignano for our red wines, along with Vermentino and Viognier for our white wines, and Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for our traditional method sparkling wines.
Our olive groves, managed using non-intensive methods, are home to Tuscan cultivars such as Moraiolo, Frantoio, and Leccino
Biopass
From the very beginning, we chose a certified organic approach, enhanced by the BIOPASS protocol through collaboration with the Sata team and the universities of Milan, Brescia, and San Michele all’Adige.
We monitor the visual (VSA) and biological (QBS) quality of the soils, adapting each intervention according to actual needs.
The goal is to continuously improve biodiversity.A living, conscious, and science-based agriculture: our methods enhance product quality and the future of the soil, leaving a tangible legacy for future generations.
