Company Description

Le Manzane is a family winery in the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage area.
The story began in the 1950s with Osvaldo “NONNO Aldo” Balbinot, whose passion for the land and wine started it all.
Today, his son Ernesto and his wife Silvana Ceschin carry on the dream, together with their children Marco and Anna, the third generation of the family.

At Le Manzane, family is at the heart of everything we do — from the care in the vineyards to the joy we share in every bottle. Our wines, including Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Pinot Grigio and  local varieties like Verdiso, Manzoni Bianco and Marzemino, tell the story of our home and our passion for these hills.

The family:
Ernesto and his wife Silvana, his mother Elsa and father Osvaldo (known as Aldo), the founder of the Balbinot family, and their children Marco and Anna.

The people:
Le Manzane employs a team of 15 people year-round, a close-knit group of women and men.
During harvest and pruning periods, the team grows to around 40 people.

Bottles produced annually: 1 million

Vineyards:
73 hectares, almost all located in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
In addition to Glera, the main grape variety for Prosecco, the estate cultivates local varieties such as Verdiso, Manzoni Bianco, Bianchetta, and Marzemino, as well as international varieties like Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Pinot Bianco and Grigio.

The winery joined the Eno Bee research project, which promotes the return of bees to the vineyard. As part of the initiative, Le Manzane created the Bee Garden in the Manzana area of San Pietro di Feletto (TV), where 8 colorful beehives have been placed to welcome these small but essential insects.

Consumer health is a key value for the winery.
Le Manzane follows the Viticulture Protocol of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, a set of guidelines developed by a commission of experts led by the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.
This protocol aims to protect consumer health, preserve the production area, and respect the beauty of the landscape.

Since 2018, the company has also been certified under the SQNPI (National Quality System for Integrated Production), a voluntary certification for farms that follow integrated, sustainable farming practices.
Le Manzane is currently engaged in the process of achieving Equalitas certification by 2026, reinforcing our long-term commitment to sustainable practices.

THE ESTATE

A winery was built inside the hillside, where wines are born that satisfy even the most refined palates.
This is possible not only thanks to the dedication, passion, and experience of the Balbinot family, but also because of the unique geology and microclimate of the area.

The winery takes its name from the place where most of its vineyards are located: Manzana, a hilly area between Tarzo and Conegliano. This land, of morainic origin, is well exposed to the sun and has fertile soil formed during the Würm glaciation.

In 2022, Le Manzane acquired a new 8-hectare estate, including old rural buildings. A renovation project is currently being studied to transform the property into a space for hospitality. New vineyards of Glera, Pinot Noir, and Incrocio Manzoni have already been planted, with the aim of expanding the still wine collection.
An olive grove of 1 hectare has also been planted.

Le Manzane plans to invest in the near future not only in Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, but also in creating a 360° experience including agritourism, educational farm activities, and wine tourism.
Today, the total surface of the estate is 73 hectares.

The winery is equipped with a modern production system, hidden inside the hill after a major environmental redevelopment project.
It uses the latest technologies in thermo-vinification, temperature-controlled storage, and automated bottling to guarantee both high quality and to preserve the natural character of the wine.
