Company Description
Le Rogaie — a Tuscan term that refers to brambles while evoking the fires of passion — is a young agricultural estate located in the heart of Maremma, Tuscany. Founded in 2019, the estate is family-run and deeply committed to environmental stewardship, territorial identity, and artisanal excellence.
Our philosophy is rooted in producing high-quality olive oil and wines that respect tradition while embracing innovation and sustainability. We cultivate 11 hectares of centuries-old olive groves and 3 hectares of vineyards, 1.5 hectares of which are registered under the prestigious Morellino di Scansano DOCG appellation.
All cultivation and production processes are carried out without chemical agents. We employ environmentally sustainable practices and advanced agronomic techniques to safeguard soil health and biodiversity. Alongside agricultural production, we actively engage in in-house research on environmental sustainability from technological, economic, and agronomic perspectives.
Our extra virgin olive oil, certified IGP Toscana, is cold-pressed and produced from native olive varieties such as Frantoio, Leccino, and Moraiolo. Annual production is approximately 30 quintals.
Wine production began with our first harvest in 2020, featuring vineyard grape selection and manual harvesting, under the guidance of oenologist Daniele Di Mambro. All wines are made from native grape varieties and vinified exclusively through spontaneous fermentation.
Our labels include:
- Forteto – 100% Sangiovese, Morellino di Scansano DOCG, aged 12 months in concrete tanks and further refined in bottle.
- Banditaccia – 100% Ciliegiolo, IGT Toscana, aged in stainless steel and concrete before bottling.
- Rosa – Predominantly Sangiovese with Trebbiano and Vermentino, IGT Toscana.
- Lupo Bianco – Equal blend of Ansonica, Procanico, Vermentino, and Malvasia Bianca, IGT Toscana.
The names Forteto and Banditaccia derive from the historic boundary ditches of the estate, located along the road called Colle di Lupo — a tribute reflected in the wine Lupo Bianco. This naming choice highlights our dedication to celebrating and preserving the identity of the land that surrounds us.
Current wine production is approximately 10,000 bottles per year.
