Company Description

Tenute Martarosa has been producing wines from its own grapes since 1938, when Antonio and Rosa Travaglini planted the first Montepulciano bush-trained vineyard in the countryside of Nuova Cliternia, in the municipality of Campomarino. This historic area, where the hills gently slope toward the sea, benefits from a fertile plain and cooling sea breezes.

Today, the estate cultivates 24 hectares of vineyards, all managed organically, with a strong focus on environmental balance and respect for the land and the people who work it. The winery is dedicated exclusively to Italian and native grape varieties.

A central element of the company’s vision is the experimentation with Tintilia, a key native grape of the region. Vineyards are planted in different areas, altitudes, soils, and exposures to fully explore its potential and express its diverse characteristics. Alongside Tintilia, Tenute Martarosa also cultivates Fiano, Moscato, Trebbiano, and Montepulciano, interpreting these historic varieties with a modern approach.

The wines are defined by identity, balance, elegance, and drinkability, reflecting a contemporary vision rooted in tradition. The work in the vineyard and cellar, combined with the passion of Michele and Pierluigi Travaglini, aims to promote a still little-known territory with great potential.

The company’s philosophy is based on preserving the uniqueness of Molise while embracing research and innovation. Vineyard management focuses on maintaining old vines, careful mass selection, minimal intervention, and sustainable practices such as grassing, natural fertilization, and soil enrichment.
